Delve into it.

Tailor-made instruments, to give musicians new ways through hell and back.

An endeavour by Alexandre Hamel.

Our ideals

Electronic music should be about finding ways to express ourselves without constraints. Into this ecosystem of instruments that are standalone, autonomous , yet always somehow lacking in their completeness, modular synthesis has been a staple in its adaptability. Historically rooted in the very existence of our practice, the Eurorack format achieved to permanently reinvent itself throughout the years and still bear relevance through an ecosystem of computerized music.

It is now time for Brui Sur Mesure to give its contribution to the media.

By anchoring itself to the technological advances of electronic music visionnaires, Dante gives a new light to misunderstood instruments of the last century by giving a modern take to the very best parts of independent, electronic lutherie.

Through its rumbling depths, its swarm of oscillators and the free speech of its formant filter, Dante is still easily tamed with the help of its precise position and pressure-sensitive ribbon controller. An instrument that will leave you wanting to press forward into its rich, gut-wrenching tone.

Dante
$855.00

A workhorse for you Eurorack, Dante is a semi-modular monophonic synthesizer with a double oscillator, a double sub-oscillator, double pole formant filter and a pressure ribbon that detects position and pressure applied. Its strong identity and its high flexibility makes it a clear choice to adepts who seeks new methods of expression and also to newcomers who wants an entryway into exploratory lutherie.

About Alexandre Hamel

“As in any relations, first impressions are the most important. Lutherie should follow the same principle: instruments must be felt and understood at first touch. Intuition is a paradigm.”

Bachelor in Digital Music at the University of Montreal, Quebec, Alexandre Hamel has dedicated the last four year of its practice to the creation of experimental lutherie, in the quest of finding contemporary ways of interacting, expressing, and, most importantly, of playing our music. By staying off of the beaten paths, Alexandre brings its wide creative knowledge to the format of modular synthesis, with its passion for electronic music, dramatic arts and literature, always with the intent to bring inspiration and new perspectives to the interpreters of his creations.
